Introducing automated ticketing system

Dear valued customer,

In order to improve our quality of support, StreamZilla will be introducing a ticketing system. Your service query will be tracked with a ticket number, shown in the subject line. To respond, simply use the “reply to” option. Your query will be updated. Ticket numbers will be generated automatically and you will receive an email response instantly. This gives you the advantage of having a reference number for all further correspondence concerning your service query.

Our response times will remain the same according to your Service Level Agreement.

We will update our Windows OS based media servers with the latest Windows OS updates from Microsoft.

Thursday April 5 01:00 CET until approximately 03:00 CET
We have planned the maintenance window in the low-hours to ensure the maintenance affects as little users as possible.

Availability of your streams
The availability of your Windows Media live streams can be affected with short interruptions.
Your live encoders will experience disconnecting and reconnecting during the planned maintenance.
Most push encoders will automatically reconnect and all pull streams from encoders will automatically reconnect.
You may want to check if the automatic reconnect of your encoder(s) has been successful.

We are still experiencing stability issues with our Wowza streaming service on one of our Core servers. You may experience sporadic degraded performance in general and connectivity issues of your live streams. Our apologies for the inconvenience. We are working, together with Wowza Media Systems, on a definitive fix to resolve the cause of the stability issues.

StreamZilla CDN maintenance: 18 January 06:00 – 09:00 CET and 19 January 06:00 – 10:00 CET
This month we will schedule a maintenance upgrade on our StreamZilla CDN platform.
During this maintenance we will upgrade the current version of our CDN software with many new features:
- Geo blocking supports countries/groups management per account
- Remote origin pull ingest (live and VOD) for any HTTP adaptive streaming service (such as Apple HLS, Microsoft Smooth, Adobe HDS, MPEG DASH, 3GP DASH)
- Enhanced robustness check for dynamic live stream relaying and user management on a per stream, per account, per delivery node basis for all RTSP, RTMP, Icecast, MMS unicast relay types and IIS smooth streaming
- More features can be found on our blog.

Availability of your streams
During both maintenance windows we expect minor disruptions of live and on demand content.
Streams served from core, fallback and overflow servers will be affected.
During both maintenance windows you are not able to upload new content.
The web interface and the SOAP API won’t be available during both maintenance windows.
Please note: Your streams may not be fully available during both maintenance windows.

We are proud to announce that we have developed a brand new log processing and traffic reporting engine, called Afterburner. This new service replaces our current StreamStat technology. Afterburner is more robust and brings some great new features.

This email is to announce that we will replace the service Tuesday January 10.
Unlike our previous announcement we will upgrade our currently used log processing and traffic reporting engine Tuesday January 10.
This upgrade won’t affect the availability of your statistics and streams.
Please note: don’t forget to use the new access details once we finished upgrading. You will receive these details in a separate e-mail.

The following changes will apply after upgrading to Afterburner:

Statistics URLs
All currently used statistics URLs will change to different URLs.
This will not affect you if you access the statistics via our VDO-X management interface.
If you made bookmarks, we suggest to update your bookmarks after visiting the new URLs.

Access logs
If we provided you with access to your log files, you will be able to access to access them via a separate FTP account after we have upgraded to Afterburner.
We will send you the login details of the FTP account next week.
Your log files will no longer be accessable via the regular FTP account.

Traffic report API
A new feature is that you will be able to access a traffic XML feed.
This feed reports per account, per year, per month, per service and the total of used bytes.

Log processing frequency
Your historical statistics will be updated more frequently.
This way you have a more accurate view on used traffic.
